For Referring Physicians
You know what your patient needs. What you want to know is how quickly they will be seen, what happens once they are here, and when the report reaches your desk. This page answers all three, so you are not calling to find out.
What we accept
We see adults across the full range of cardiac presentations: chest pain and suspected coronary disease, atrial fibrillation and other arrhythmias, heart failure, valvular heart disease, hypertension that is not responding to treatment, peripheral artery disease, and cardiomyopathy. A full diagnostic service runs on site, including echocardiography, stress testing and ambulatory monitoring, so most patients are assessed and worked up in one place.
Beyond a general cardiology referral
Dr. Mazen Albaghdadi completed residency and fellowship at Northwestern, interventional and vascular training at Massachusetts General Hospital, and structural and adult congenital intervention in Toronto. In practice that means complex coronary intervention, structural work and peripheral vascular disease can be assessed here rather than referred on to a tertiary centre outside the region. If you have a patient you assumed would need to travel, it is worth a conversation first.
Pre-operative cardiac clearance
We treat pre-operative cardiac clearance as a priority category. If your patient already has a surgical date, include it with the referral and we will work to it.
How to refer
Call INSERT # and state that it is a physician referral, so it is routed directly rather than into general patient scheduling.
