Heart Care for Lehigh Acres

Lehigh Acres is one of the fastest-growing communities in Lee County

It went from around 87,000 people in 2010 to over 114,000 by 2020, spread across a grid of roughly 152,000 lots and more than 1,400 miles of road. It is also young. The median age is under 35, which is more than thirty years below what you find in some of the coastal communities nearby.

That shapes the kind of heart care people here need, and it is not what most cardiology pages are written for.

What we tend to see from Lehigh Acres

Younger does not mean lower risk. Most of the people we see from Lehigh Acres are working, raising families, and finding out about a heart problem sideways: a high reading at a work physical, a blood pressure that would not come down after a pregnancy, a cholesterol result that came back much higher than expected in someone in their thirties.

Those are the situations where getting in early genuinely changes the outcome. High blood pressure at 38 that gets properly treated is a different life from high blood pressure at 38 that gets mentioned and forgotten. The same is true for inherited high cholesterol, which runs in a straight line through families and causes trouble decades earlier than the ordinary kind.

If a parent or a sibling had a heart attack before 55 in men or 65 in women, that is the version worth asking about, whatever your age.

What we do

General cardiology, and the procedures that follow from it. Blood pressure and cholesterol management, chest pain assessment, palpitations and rhythm problems, heart failure, valve disease, and circulation problems in the legs. Dr. Mazen Albaghdadi, MD is an interventional and structural cardiologist, which means the same doctor who works out what is wrong also performs the treatment when a procedure is needed, including angioplasty and stents and transcatheter aortic valve replacement.

If you would rather start by understanding your own numbers, our guides to blood pressure, cholesterol, and heart disease risk factors are written in plain English.

Getting to us

We are at 13411 Parker Commons Blvd, on the north side of Daniels Parkway between I-75 and Six Mile Cypress. From most of Lehigh Acres the simplest run is Lee Boulevard west, then south to Daniels Parkway. From the southern end of the grid, State Road 82 joins the same corridor.

It is around fifteen miles, and for most people it is one visit rather than a course of them. We would rather see you properly once than have you make the drive four times.

FAQs

Questions we get from Lehigh Acres

  • I'm in my thirties. Am I too young to see a cardiologist?

No. Plaque starts building in the twenties and thirties, and the whole point of knowing your numbers early is that you then have decades to act on them. If a number has come back high, or heart disease started early in your family, your age is a reason to come in, not a reason to wait.

  • Do I need a referral from my primary care doctor?

Not always, though some insurance plans require one. Call us on (239) 415-4900 and we will check your plan with you before you make the drive.

  • How long is the wait for a first appointment?

We can usually see new patients within 1 to 2 days, pending insurance approval.
